Imageboard Raids are conducted on imageboards, as these types of websites are some of the easiest to raid.

How to raid[edit | edit source]

Since imageboards don't have accounts, they can only ban you by IP. However, some can also hardware ban you(by datamining which hardware your PC has and remembering it). IP bans are easy to evade. Here are several methods:

Evading IP Bans on Your Computer[edit | edit source]

Initially, it is important to determine whether you have a static or dynamic IP address. You can do this by powering off your modem, then turning it back on and checking if your IP has changed. It may take a little time for the change to take effect, but it should not exceed a day. If your IP is static, contact your service provider and inquire about the possibility of changing it. Additionally, you can utilize VPNs and proxies to alter your IP, but be aware that many VPN ranges may already be prohibited on certain imageboards, such as 4chan where 99% of VPNs are ineffective. However, simply changing your IP is not sufficient. Imageboards can track you through cookies, so it is essential to clear them before changing your IP, and repeat this process each time. In some cases, hardware bans can be circumvented by using a virtual machine (VM).

Evading IP Bans on Your Phone[edit | edit source]

Evading bans on your phone is easier than evading bans on your computer. If you have mobile Internet, you can just enable airplane mode, wait for 1-2 minutes, and disable it. You now have a new IP. Remember to also clear cookies on your phone's browser before changing IPs.

Tips[edit | edit source]

  • Use several devices. For an example, you can use your computer with your dynamic IP and your phone with your mobile data IP. This will let you double your spam.
  • Open the imageboard in several tabs, load the 'make thread' menu with images for your spam and text, and then fire at once, akin to loading several cannons. Sometimes the thread making timer is only connected to your cookies, so clear them. Doesn't work on imageboards with long timers that are stickied to your IP. You can also open that IB in several browsers with different VPN extensions enabled, however do remember that a good amount of boards already have most browser VPNs banned, and browser VPNs are not the safest to use.
  • If an IB has a thread limit, clear cookies and change your IP to be able to make more threads.
  • Have some copypastas and images prepared for your spam, so you won't be losing time by rummaging through your files. Some imageboards don't allow you to make threads with the same image, so have a variety of images prepared.
  • Raid when most jannies are asleep. This depends on the imageboard's user base. A majority American imageboard is most likely to have jannies that are asleep during eurohours.
  • Before making the raid thread, stating a specific time for the start of the raid can give time for other raiders to notice it and join in later.
  • Test the waters before making the raid thread, because if the imageboard isn't raidable, the raid will go nowhere. For an example, some foreign imageboards rangeban all the other countries except their own, and not all VPNs have that country's IPs, making that IB a bad target.
  • If you're rangebanned, you can clear cookies and change your IP, wait a few days, and then appeal the ban by pretending to be someone else, act like you're confused and never did the things that you were banned for.
  • Have fun.
